Bereavement and Loss
I have worked a lot with bereavement and loss and currently I work with a charity in South Devon, who offer bereavement counselling to children and families.
Loss is a part of life but that doesn’t make it any easier to cope with and can leave a person feeling angry, guilty, sad and full of fear.
Coming for counselling can give a person who is bereaved the opportunity of working towards accepting the loss, working through the pain of grief, adjusting to an environment in which the deceased is missing, and finding safe ways to remember the deceased whilst reinvesting in life.
Along with working in the specific area of bereavement following a death, I also work in the area of loss. Loss can be experienced following a divorce, redundancy or any major life change ie. children leaving home.
Counselling can help you to explore your loss, to understand the impact this has had on you, and find new ways to face your difficulty and move forward with hope for the future.
