Identity Issues
A person’s identity is their individuality, their personality, who a person is.
Identity issues come in many different forms and may include a person struggling with their sexuality or their gender, discovering they are adopted or just trying to find out who they are and how they fit into their environment.
All these situations can feel overwhelming and confusing and may lead to depression or negative and destructive behaviour such as self harming, eating disorders and/or suicidal thoughts.
Counselling can help you to look at who you really are and how you fit into your environment. As a Therapist I offer a safe space for this exploration to take place, without judgement, which gives you the freedom to express your inner thoughts, feelings, beliefs and fears. I would then support you in facing your difficulties and help you to find new ways of being.
